Move Matter Architecture sono gli autori del progetto di un piccolo ristorante greco dallo stile luminoso e moderno situato  nell’Upper East Side di Manhattan, New York.

Move Matter Architecture have designed Greek Eats, a small, bright, modern Greek restaurant in the upper east side of Manhattan, New York. Grandi finestre riempiono il ristorante di luce naturale e una tavolozza di colori nelle variazioni del bianco, nero e ocra caratterizzano  l’atmosfera. Semplice, con pochi dettagli in legno e metallo smaltato, il piccolo ristorante risulta, allo stesso tempo, luminoso, moderno, minimalista e confortevole.

Lungo il muro posteriore, piastrelle nere, tipiche del rivestimento delle stazioni della metropolitana newyorkese, e un grande bancone in marmo creano un look sofisticato, mentre il menu scritto a mano sul muro bianco e l’aspetto naturale degli sgabelli e dei tavoli, conferisce all’ambiente  un’atmosfera informale.

In this small modern restaurant, black subway tiles and a large marble counter create a sophisticated look, while the handwritten menu on the white wall and the natural look of the stools and counter gives the space a casual vibe.

Rotoli di carta, attaccati alla parete al lato dei tavoli, forniscono le tovaglie e rendono facile  la pulizia contribuendo a rafforzare il concetto di informalità con stile che il locale vuole comunicare.

 

In this small modern restaurant, rolls of paper attached to the wall above each of the booth tables provide the tablecloth and make it easy to clean the table between customers. The large rolls of white paper also contribute to the casual feel in the restaurant and contrast the black paneling along the wall.

Sul retro del ristorante c’è una zona pranzo più formale, caratterizzata da una parete su cui fanno bella mostra di se, orci di olio che aggiungono autenticità,  uno specchio posizionato orizzontalmente aiuta il piccolo spazio ad apparire   più grande e più aperto.

At the back of this modern restaurant is a more formal dining area featuring a wall of oils that adds authenticity to the Greek restaurant and a horizontally placed mirror that helps the small space feel larger and more open.
